Black Ghost – Katherine Cobabe

March 29, 2017 - Uncategorized

Day 2 is officially over, and my heart is officially full. These kids have absolutely found a place in my heart, even with a nickname like “black ghost”. I definitely underestimated just how much I would love this place. People here are some of the kindest, most selfless people I have ever met, and it amazes me to see how grateful they are with half the things we have. I have come to appreciate things like toilets, shower heads, cowless roads, and somewhat safe drivers more than I thought possible. I can’t tell if the kids have changed my life, or if nearly losing my life in a head on collision on a narrow mountain road did it. But I can definitely say that both things have played a great part in making this the best thing I have ever experienced. I definitely miss home, but I’m considering selling my plane ticket home and exchanging it for rupees because I could stay here for a very long time. Much love to my family & happy birthday to my brothers! See you all soon!!
