Hi everybody, I’m not the greatest at this sort of thing but I am going to give it a try so here it goes…
India is crazy, loud, smelly, obnoxious, funny, insane, beautiful, interesting, humid, rainy, modest, and wonderful. I absolutely love it here, the people are incredible and I already love them so much already even though I’ve never spoken a word to most of them. The view is second to none, it is incredible, the mountains and the green is so stunning to look at and it shocks me every time I look out my window. Things haven’t been all great though, I thought I was about to die for the entire bus ride up. The drivers here are crazy, they fly up mountain roads in pouring rain while passing slow cars and dodging oncoming traffic. There is a method to their madness though, even though to me it seems like they never have a clue about anyone else on the road they are the most aware drivers I have ever met and their skill is unlike anything I’ve seen. I enjoy the bus rides now it gives us adrenaline rushes and we enjoy the feelings of the ride. The kids are angels, most of the time anyway, my school has 20 five and six-year-old kids who have only been exposed to school for a month. They are full of energy and are very hard to entertain for more than 10 seconds. One of their favorite things to do is to climb all over me, I’m not sure why but to them I guess I look like a jungle gym. It doesn’t bother me though they are fun and the sweetest kids on the planet. The other three grade levels are great, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are bright and love to learn. Their absolute favorite thing to do is play down by the banks of the hanky panky, the funny thing is that none of them know how to say that so whenever they want to play a little boy will slowly approach me and quietly say “Hanky panky?”. It’s the cutest thing ever to be here with them and I am already so glad I decided to come, this has been the best thing I’ve ever decided to do. To the people at home reading this I love you guys and miss you and are thinking about you guys all the time. Thank you for supporting me through this and getting me here, I would not have been able to come and see this without you. I love you mom and dad I hope things are doing good I miss you all and can’t wait to keep you updated on what happens next.
PS – Mom the food here is AWESOME! The cook is a wizard and everything tastes amazing.
