Love Speaks Louder Than Words, by Kylen Hughes

I am so happy to be here. The love I have felt these past few days is unlike anything I have ever experienced. The people of India have taught me so much in so little of time.

I walk into homes each day to see families with little to nothing. One room homes with dirt floors and holes in the walls leading to the outdoors. Each person with a smile on their face. It’s so crazy to watch these people put food in front of me when I know they are struggling to put food on the table for their family. I have witnessed more humility than ever before. Little girls taking their earrings out and putting them in my ears, or giving me the little amount of candy they have in their hands. I love the people here.

I have realized there are so many different ways communicate other than speaking with one another. I never thought I could form such a strong connection with someone that speaks a completely different language than me. Someone that lives in a completely different culture.

I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world. India will hold a special place in my heart forever.
