Laughter & Tears

April 6, 2018 - 2018 Operation: Vishvaas

Text from Nat Hagen, Vishvaas’ Intern who has faithfully posts the blogs everyday. Thanks Nat! They are traveling to Shimla and Chandigarh these last few days so internet access will be rare. But Nat sent these photos along with this short message:

The first photo shows the fun that we had with these kids and how much we, and the kids, enjoyed our time together. The second, while very sad, is perhaps the most clear representation of love I have ever seen. This wasn’t even goodbye day. Just a beautiful moment.

 This photo gives the nickname

This photo gives the nickname “Big Steve” a whole new meaning!

  1. Beautiful pictures!! Thank you for sharing!!

  2. Thanks for sharing the pictures. It was so good to see Daniel. All the kids, both American and Indian, look so happy.

  3. In tears over that one with Maddie crying. Thank you for capturing such a beautiful moment. And also.. the great one where she’s clearly taught that young, innocent Indian child to be sassy and stick her tongue out too! So proud of you Mad!
Thank you for such beautiful photos!

  4. I understand how all of you feel! One year ago I went to Rampur in the Shaneri village school and cherished my experience but most of all I cherished the children I met there. In one week they had captured my heart and left me a sobbing mess the day we had to leave. I still remember hugging them so tight with a hope that they would still be ok even if I wasn’t there. To the girl in the second photo I bet that’s what you were hoping as well. And to everyone else, I know that it was hard to leave the kids but they will be ok and they won’t forget about you. A year ago I thought I was never going to hear from them again but now I know that they are still as happy and lovable as when I left. I just want to say that all of you guys answered my prayers. I hope all of you continue to enjoy your experience in Shimla! Don’t get attacked by monkeys! 🙂

  5. Wow these are great pictures! Thank you for sharing!
