I Was Wrong About a Few Things — Beth Lovendahl

April 6, 2018 - 2018 Operation: Vishvaas

  1.  I thought we were coming to India to serve poor Indian children.  The only correct part of that is that we came to India.  I have been served way more than I have served.  I haven’t done any work.  I’ve only played, learned, loved, and cried happy tears.  And I wouldn’t described these beautiful souls as poor children.  I’ve met happy, loved, smart, funny, kind, healthy, adorable, loving children.
  2. I thought I was coming here with amazing teens.  That’s partly true.  But I’m here with phenomenal young adults who have become like my children, I LOVE them!

-Ashlee is so kind and loving and seems wise beyond her years.  She is such a pleasure to be around. She is a hard worker and the kids adore her.

-Austin is the “Bag Man”.  He has been such a help to me!  From saving my life (massive spider) to taking care of our team’s education bag.  Not sure what I would do without him and so grateful he is on our team.

-Brandon is funny!  He is dominating our quote book.  I adore him and his laugh.  This trip would not be the same without him.  Watching him role around in the dirt with the kids was pure joy.

-Camden is my favorite punk!  🙂  He has such a great sense of humor and I can’t imagine life without him.  He is always happy and his smile is contagious.

-Madi was on both my prep team and village team and honestly I cannot imagine how I would have gotten through my first expedition to India without her.  She is so talented and with her India experience she has saved me time and time again.

-Ryan has a quiet strength that I admire and have been so grateful for.  She’s always prepared and thoughtful and someone I really look up to, and not just because she’s tall 😉  The kids loved her lessons and were always so engaged!

-Sassy said she’s her Mom’s favorite and I believe it!  She’s kind, funny, and a great story teller.  (And he scooted away….)  I know she left a lasting impact on these kids, it was amazing to watch her interact with them.

1, 2 Blue Crew – These teens have my heart and any one of them could quite possibly have a future educating young kids.  Watching them love these little ones brought tears to my eyes daily.  I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work they put into being here and the difference they made once they got here.  We <3 Dansa!!
