May 23, 2018 - 2018 Operation Bandhu
As team Bandhu continues to embark on their wild journey to get to West Bengal, India in 176 days, all members of team Bandhu are learning the ways of Sunday night meetings and critical life lessons as well as the excitement of raising money to make their deadlines. In our last Sunday night meeting we focused on the topic of forgiveness. As we started the meeting we struggled to come up with a definition of forgiveness. But as the lesson went on we began to gain a deeper understanding of how forgiveness plays a huge role in all of our lives and how it can make or break you as a person. For example, in a quote from “davewillis.org” it states,
This quote explains that in forgiveness, it is important to know that when you hold a grudge you aren’t just harming the person who hurt you but you are also harming yourself. Forgiveness is often looked at as a weakness but is actually quite the opposite. We left this amazing lesson with a challenge to forgive someone who has hurt us and to also teach those around us to forgive.
On a less serious note, Operation Bandhu’s Communications team had the amazing opportunity to host an unforgettable social event at GTC (Gymnastics Training Center)! All thanks to the awesome owners of GTC! During our time at the gym we played many crazy and exciting games that brought out the goofy side in many of the team members. We also can’t forget the delicious desserts provided by the team at the party. Overall, our party at GTC was nothing but fun and team bonding!
