Stronger Bonds — By Kennedy Findlay

June 2, 2019 - 2019: vada ka yuva

We are a week through our expedition and it has been the most amazing experience of my life.  Our connections with the kids have gotten even stronger each and every day as they get more and more out of their shell.  As our connections with the kids have grown, the bonds between us teens have also strengthened.  We have become more comfortable around each other.  One thing I feel that has helped with this is that we have learned to just put ourselves out there more.  We are getting out of our comfort zones and strengthening our friendships.  By doing this, each one of us has become more supportive of each other.  We help each other out at the schools when we are having a rough time with the kids or our lessons.  As we debrief after every lesson with our village teams, we can all agree on our strengths and weaknesses for the day.  We are learning from our mistakes and applying these learning principles to our next lessons.  We go through the rough times, and we can be laughing with each other the next moment.  Even after a long day, we still like to hang out around our camp and play games.  It is a nice way to end the day.  Putting the hard day behind us and ending on such a positive note.
