Remember how you make them feel… — By Brooklyn Murri

June 3, 2019 - 2019: vada ka yuva

I have never had such a rewarding and exhausting experience in my life. Holy cow. It is amazing how fast but slow this trip is going.

Today we talked a lot about how people may not remember what you say, but they remember how you make them feel. I have no words for how this trip has made me feel so far, but I am going to try to express them. I have felt so humbled and grateful to be here. I have gotten closer to everyone and also have gotten an exceptional amount of love towards others. Especially the kids we teach. They all are so cute and love to see us. Although sometimes, they can be really overwhelming.

Today red team’s school was over and the teens were ready to leave from exhaustion, but we couldn’t find John. In Ian’s words, “Where were you, John? We were getting DESTROYED.” Kids swarmed us, clinging and jumping on our arms. It was crazyyyy. I have so much love for these kids and it is going to be so hard to say goodbye to them tomorrow. Even as they were attacking us, you can feel the love radiating off of them which only increases my love for them.

I know that those kids are not going to remember everything that I have attempted to teach them, but I know that they are going to remember all the good times that we had together. I hope that none of us forget how much love has been felt throughout this trip.

  1. Great picture! It’s amazing to think of the billions of children around the world who are eager for attention, love, and caring. So glad you’re able to share part of yourself with this group!

  2. Thanks Brooklyn as well as the rest of the team for the daily summaries. I’m amazed at how well written and thoughtful the blogs are of your experiences each day. You’ve really been able to paint a vivid picture for me what you are all going through. I’m sure there’s much more say and I can’t wait to hear it all.

  3. Kids swarm those they love! Embrace the crazy! The light and goodness you are sharing with them will stay in their hearts forever.

  4. So great! Lots of ❤️

  5. What an amazing opportunity to give and receive love so fully. ♡
