Sam’s Mediocre Blog…

June 6, 2017 - Uncategorized

Hi everybody! So much has happened in these past few weeks here, I taught in schools, ate real Mexican and Italian food, took a Bollywood dance class (and rocked it), went white water rafting through the Himalayas, sang songs in the pouring rain, hand washed clothes for the first time, rode in rickshaws, and a lot more. The other day Zeke, Tracie, Bret and I all went shopping in the market for cool little trinkets and stuff, I bought a bunch of other cool stuff but Zeke and I were looking for something cheap to get. As we walked up and down the streets in the market we saw a really cool lock shop. There were all kinds of locks and they were super cheap. Anyway looking back I’m not really sure why I bought the lock but when the guy asked me what lock I wanted, I pointed to one in the far corner that looked cool. As we gave the man our money and walked away Zeke and I took a closer look at the locks we had gotten. Zeke was happy with his purchase while I had a very opposite reaction, my lock says HITLER in big letters and the top and has two iron crosses on the bottom. I bought a Nazi lock. Oh well, I didn’t take it back and it’s still kinda cool even though it’s a little creepy and weird. The other awesome thing we did was our service project in the school. Our school was in great need of a fresh painting, most of the walls were dirty and chipping so we spent the whole day on Sunday repainting the school and decorating the walls with fruits and numbers and shapes and colors. It looked really good to me but I guess the teacher wasn’t too excited about it because when we asked her what she thought she just said “eh its ok”. It was funny and the school really does look 10 times better than before. Tomorrow is our last day in the schools with the kids where we say our goodbyes before we head off to Manali for the last part of our trip. I am both excited and sad that we will be saying goodbye to the kids, I am really going to miss them. I love India a lot, something about it is just special to me. This is probably my last time blogging so I miss you guys a lot and can’t wait to see you and tell you all about the stuff I did here. I’ll see you soon.
