March 26, 2019 - 2019 Operation: Sapna
Today has gotten me so excited for the two weeks ahead of me. We met the kids today and they seemed just as excited about us as we were of them. They are so smart and pick up on what we are teaching so quick. It is a very blissful experience being surrounded by all of their smiling faces in the majestic Himalayas, in that moment nothing else mattered. The ride up to the school was crazy as our driver flew up the narrow, windy mountain road honking around the corners letting everyone know that we are on our way.
The city of Rampur is one of the coolest cities I have experienced, with the big river that carved the valley we are staying in flowing down the middle of the city, large vines and tree roots growing up the walls, and steep stairways and alleys shooting off at every corner. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this trip has in store for us and I cannot wait to the smiling faces of the kids tomorrow morning.
I’m sitting in the mall parking lot crying. I’m so glad I checked the blog for the millionth time today! It’s wonderful to see you with the kids and enjoying your journey with them. "Proud" is an understatement at this moment. I love you!!
Thanks for the blog! I think that is my Megan in the picture behind you. Thanks for writing and helping us feel just a little bit of what you are experiencing! We love hearing from all of you!!
From what Camden told us, the driving is an experience unlike anything else. Thanks Bret for sharing pictures with us. It has been the highlight of my day.
