Good Morning!
My name is Scott Melis and I am the current Chairman of the Board for YMAD. I’ve been a part of Youth Making a Difference for 3 years now and have loved, loved, loved every minute! Working with the teens over the last few years has been such a wonderful adventure and something I will cherish forever.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all of the parents/guardians of the Youth now participating in our expeditions. Your support has been crucial to the success of the kids and to our program. We would not be the organization that we are today without the countless hours of help from the families and friends of our participants.
As you have read, the kids are having the time of their lives (even without their bags). They have accomplished an incredible amount over the last 9 months. The service they have rendered both back home and in India has made significant impacts in the lives of everyone they have come in contact with. They will come home with a passion for service instilled in their hearts and stories to last a lifetime.
YMAD is committed to continuing to make a significant difference in the lives of local youth as well as the children of India. As you are aware, we rely on the donations and support of the community to help us accomplish our mission. We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, your businesses, etc. To continue to meet our ongoing needs and to continue to provide for the needs of the children of India, we are asking for added support.
Here are a few ways to contribute!
Application information can be found at: https://www.ymad.org/volunteer/
We could not do what we do without the help of our supporters! Hundreds of hours go into preparation for our expeditions and its people like you who sacrifice their time and resources to make a difference in the world.
For the next few days the blog posts will taper off a little bit as the expeditions tour around India and make their way back home. Finding reliable Wi-Fi is very unpredictable when traveling from city to city. When the leaders find Internet access, I assure you they will send as many updates as they can.
Again thank you for your support! We look forward to hearing all about their many adventures at the Return Celebration in January.
Sincerely,
Scott Melis, Chairman of the Board
